Remove Object from Photo
Erase the thing that ruined the shot — a photobomber, a parked car, overhead wires, a bin, a logo. Brush over it; the hole fills with the background that was behind it.
1 · Mark what to remove
Choose a photo, or try the sample. The image never leaves this page.
2 · Check the result
The filled result appears here, next to your original for comparison.
Choose a photo to start — it stays on this page.
Runs entirely in your browser — the photo is never uploaded. Large images are scaled to at most 512 px on the long edge so filling finishes quickly; the downloaded PNG matches this working size.
Getting clean object removals
- 1
Brush slightly past the edges
Cover the object plus a thin margin around it. Leftover fringes of the object are the most common reason a removal looks off.
- 2
Grab shadows you don't want
The object's shadow is part of the object. Include it in the mask unless you want it to stay.
- 3
Fill big objects in one pass
Mask the whole object and run once. The algorithm rebuilds from the outside in, so one complete pass blends better than many small ones.
When the result will look good — and when not
Removal quality depends on what's behind the object, because the fill is rebuilt from real pixels elsewhere in your photo:
- Clean results: objects against walls, pavement, grass, water, sky, carpet, bokeh — any background with a repeating pattern or little detail.
- Harder results: objects overlapping intricate detail (foliage, crowds, text) or touching the photo border. The fill can come back soft or repetitive there — still worth a try, but check the result closely.
The tool works at up to 512 px on the long edge and your photo never leaves this page. For an honest look at how the fill behaves on a structured background, see the examples on the what is inpainting page.
Questions
Is it free to remove objects?
Yes — every removal on this site is free, with no account and no watermark. Processing happens on your device, so there is no per-image cost to pass on.
Why is my object still visible as a faint outline?
Part of the object or its edge was left outside the mask. Clear the mask, zoom into the area mentally, and brush a wider margin — slightly over-covering beats under-covering.
Can it remove a large object like a car?
It can, but the background behind it must supply the fill. A car against a plain wall removes cleanly; a car in front of a busy market will fill with smeared texture.
This page is one task of the broader AI inpainting tool — the same engine that repairs, cleans and erases any marked region.
