Remove Watermark from Photo

Your own photo came back from a lab or an old editor with a stamped logo, or you need your name moved before re-exporting. Brush over the watermark — the underlying image is rebuilt from the pixels around it.

1 · Mark what to remove

Choose a photo, or try the sample. The image never leaves this page.

2 · Check the result

The filled result appears here, next to your original for comparison.

Choose a photo to start — it stays on this page.

Runs entirely in your browser — the photo is never uploaded. Large images are scaled to at most 512 px on the long edge so filling finishes quickly; the downloaded PNG matches this working size.

Getting invisible watermark removal

  1. 1

    Brush the watermark exactly

Follow the letters or logo with a brush roughly their thickness. Watermarks are thin, so a small, precise mask fills best.

  2. 2

    Cover semi-transparent marks fully

If you can faintly see the watermark through the image, that whole region is affected — mask the faint remains too, or they will survive the fill.

  3. 3

Treat tiled watermarks stripe by stripe

Repeating diagonal patterns cover the whole frame. Remove one stripe at a time, checking each result before the next.

What to expect

Watermark removal is mostly about what sits underneath:

  • Nearly invisible results: watermarks over sky, walls, water, skin bokeh, gradients — any smooth or repetitive area continues right through the mark.
  • Visible compromise: watermarks crossing detailed content — faces, text in the photo, fine patterns. The hole gets filled with borrowed texture, which may soften the detail underneath. There is no way around that: the watermark destroyed that information.

The tool runs locally at up to 512 px on the long edge; the download is a PNG at that working size.

Questions

Is removing a watermark legal?

It depends entirely on your relationship to the image. Editing your own photos, or images you are licensed to edit, is fine. Stripping watermarks from stock previews, other people's work, or content you purchased to *view* is not — this tool is for legitimate cleanup of your own material.

Why can I still see a ghost of the watermark?

Semi-transparent watermarks alter the pixels underneath, so faint remains inside the mask edge can survive. Widen your brush strokes to cover the full affected area, including the faint halo.

Can it handle a big centered logo?

Yes, if the background behind the logo is smooth or repetitive. Over detailed content, the filled area will look reconstructed — that is a physical limit of any fill-based remover, free or paid.
